Shreveport Based Fashion Designer Jane Ryder Featured at Oscars on Red Carpet

Feb. 27, 2012 - PRLog -- Jane Ryder, Proprietor of Jane Ryder Millinery, experienced a dream come true when Shreveport resident Shannon Oldenburg, wife of 2012 Oscar winner Brandon Oldenburg, showcased her custom evening gown design on the red carpet.
“It was an amazing feeling,” says Ryder. “You work so hard for years wondering when it will pay off in a big way and when you are in that moment, it takes your breath away.”
Oldenburg approached Ryder after a lengthy search in several states  for a 1950’s vintage style dress that would complement her petite frame. Ryder created a tea length two-layered evening gown constructed with chartreuse green taffeta with black cotton floral lace from England and dedicated several weeks to constructing the gown.
Ryder was born in Carlisle, England and grew up in Devon. She relocated to Shreveport in 1993 and quickly built a name for herself designing dresses, clothing and fascinators as well as working in the film industry in the Costume and Wardrobe department. To date, she has worked on a dozen motion pictures and continues to be highly sought.
Ryder also had a dress featured on actress Megan Brown at the movie premiere of Mr. Brooks at Graumann’s Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles and recently hosted a hat showcase where her custom fascinators were spotlighted. She was featured in the October issue of Woman’s World magazine and has been featured in City Life magazine as well. She is the mother of two and is engaged.
