Bihar Festival is celebrating in Jaipur on the completion of 100 years of its existence

Bihar Shatabdi Mahotsav is celebrating by the government of Bihar on the completion of 100 years of Bihar's existence. The celebration started in Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur on Thursday, April 05, 2012. Dr. Sukhada Pandey, minister of arts, culture and youth departments of Bihar, inaugurated the festival by light the earthen lamps on Thursday in JKK, Jaipur.

"Our vision behind organizing the 'Bihar festival' in Jaipur is to promote the culture, arts, crafts, food and literature of Bihar in Rajasthan. In addition to this, we are here to learn the culture, arts and crafts of Rajasthan. We invite the people of Rajasthan to visit Bihar.", Dr. Sukhada Pandey said. She also added, "We expect the remarkable growth in Bihar tourism in near future."

There are 60 stalls in the festival. Handicraft items, Madhubani paintings, Tikuli arts, Seenki arts and many other arts and crafts of Bihar are presented in the stalls by the craftsmen of Bihar. CDs and posters of Bihari and Bhojpuri movies are also available in the festival. Cuisine of Bihar is also specially arranged in the stalls of the festival so that the Jaipurites can taste delicious food of Bihar. Litti-Chokha, Maalpua, Anarsaa, Khaja are few of the special food items of Bihar which are attracting Jaipurites.

A cultural program was also organized in Jawahar Kala Kendra Jaipur on the occasion. Sharda Sinha, Padma Shri awarded folk singer of Bihar, presented folk songs of Bihar. More than 35 artists performed a dance composition on the occasion to present the cultural values of Bihar.

The festival will continue till Saturday, April 07, 2012. You can enjoy many cultural programs, dance performances and folk musical compositions along with the cuisine of Bihar in the festival.

Jyoti Khandelwal, Mayor of Jaipur city was also presented in the inauguration function of "Bihar Festival".
