Award-Winning Mystery Author Will Debut Timely Political Thriller at SC Book Festival

April 24, 2012 - PRLog -- COLUMBIA, South Carolina – North Carolina author Keith Donaldson will be at the South Carolina Book Festival to unveil his latest work, Rude Awakenings. The author will be at BQB Publishing’s booth to sign the first printed copies from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on May 19, 2012.

Rude Awakenings was due to come out this fall, but the publisher bumped up the release date due to its timeliness with current political events. Donaldson penned his book as a piece of fiction, but says that “many events and elements I’ve portrayed in my book have come true, and I believe others will continue to become reality leading up to the 2012 election and beyond.”

“In this time of such turmoil in American politics, it takes a lot of ingenuity, analysis, and courage to write a story with such disconcerting projections,” says BQB Publisher Terri Leidich. “Keith’s book not only offers an unsettling account of events over the next several years, but also presents a detailed prescription for correcting some of America’s most debilitating problems. Keith has a remarkable ability for texturizing this pertinent and riveting story.”

Donaldson self-published his book in 2009 and won the finalist award in mystery at the 2010 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. He turned to BQB Publishing in 2011 to have it professionally restructured, edited, and made available for national distribution. Reviews of the first version were promising, and one reader tagged the manuscript as “truly a great read and scarily relevant.” Donaldson says he expects this second edition to be even more potent and applicable for the 2012 election year.
