May 25, 2012 - PRLog -- For 17-year old Christian High School graduate Taylor Miinch, this past week has been a whirlwind. He and his fellow seniors went on their senior trip to celebrate the accomplishment of their four years together. Their class will graduate tonight then Miinch will depart for Las Vegas and compete in the ASA Truck Series event at The Bullring Sunday afternoon where he hopes to put the Upfront Motorsports Chevrolet in victory lane.

Miinch, driving for Upfront Motorsports in the #12 Chevrolet this season, is coming off a victory in the series' last event at Firebird Raceway outside of Phoenix, but racing at The Bullring is quite different. Depending on the night the 3/8-mile paved oval can be wide and fast or it can narrow up and be one of the most challenging ovals to get around.

Miinch is hoping for the former as he has not had a great deal of success in his limited starts at The Bullring, but this time around the former go-kart standout feels confident about his chances. "I have had an incredible week," Miinch said. "My senior trip was awesome, spending time with my friends and worshiping God. We had a lot of fun at Sixflags and then went camping on the beach. I am ready for The Bullring this weekend."

Racing at The Bullring can baffle the most seasoned race teams as the track can take a toll on man and machine under the hot desert sun. For the team that hits the setup just right there can be celebration. If you miss it just a little there is frustration. The biggest challenge teams face is that the track is very different during the day (when the teams practice) then it is at night when they actually race. It is just like Vegas; you have to just roll the dice and hope you hit the "big one".

"You have to just not over drive the truck," Miinch said. "Sometimes slowing down makes you faster. The Upfront Motorsports team has a great race truck and set up so I am excited for the race and really think we have a truck that can win."

Miinch plans to spend his summer working in the steel shop at Clark Steel Fabricators as a welder and will compete in the remainder of the ASA Truck schedule as well as make select starts in SRL Southwest Tour and NASCAR K&N Pro Series.
