May 29, 2012 - PRLog -- As the chaotic situation in Greece and the wider Eurozone continues, pushing the Euro to a four year low versus the Pound, UK tour operating company Families Worldwide has noticed a significant change in booking patterns with families opting to holiday in Europe, safe in the knowledge that their budget will go further this summer.

Comments Mark Wright, Managing Director of Families Worldwide: “Holidays in Europe have been expensive in recent years with the pound’s poor showing against the Euro.

“But for some time now it has ever-so-slowly, but steadily, been climbing back, and it looks set to hit 1.3 before the summer.  This has been widely reported in the news and it seems to have prompted a call to action for parents looking to make the most of their holiday budget in these difficult times.”

Families Worldwide offer a wide variety of trips to countries in Europe, some of which are new for 2012, for example:

Abruzzo & Rome: 8 days from £1039 pp

The 8-day Abruzzo and Rome itinerary combines a discovery of the ancient capital, Rome, with an exploration of the Abruzzo region which is noted for its abundant wildlife including deer, wild boar, wolves and otters.  Other highlights include canoeing through gorges, climbing cliffs, learning to cook pasta and being a gladiator at the Coliseum!  The holiday costs from £1039 per child (age 7+) & £1069 per adult.  This includes 7 nights’ B&B (plus 3 picnic lunches & 2 dinners), all transportation, activities as detailed on the itinerary & the services of a tour leader.  Flight-inclusive prices available on request.

Family Adventure bear spotting trip in Slovakian woods – from £899 pp

If Julia Bradbury’s adventures in Planet Earth Live have awoken the David Attenborough in you, then why not head for Slovakia to spot brown bears this summer on Families Worldwide’s Bear! Where? There! trip? (min. age 14 as some of the walking is quite tough in places).  The High Tatras offer great hiking and are home to a large proportion of Europe's brown bear population.  The trips are arranged in conjunction with the High Tatras National Park Authority to provide a rare opportunity to track bears on foot.

The holiday costs from £899 pp (two sharing – same price adults/children) which includes 7 nights’ B&B accommodation (plus one packed lunch and two dinners), guided activities and a tour leader. Flight-inclusive price available on request.
