CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series Weekend Wrap

July 30, 2012 - PRLog -- By all accounts the two-day event for the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series at Meridian (ID) Speedway was a success, albeit not with growing pains and a few bent fenders. In two nights of racing action, twenty-four competitors from Idaho, Nevada, California, and Oregon saw action on the historic tight and tricky quarter-mile paved oval.

Weekend Wrap:
-The race weekend was sponsored by Project Filter and ESI-Express.
-Night one had 21 cars in a 75-lap feature event won by 15-year old Brandon White from Eureka, CA.
-Night two featured 23-cars in a race shortened 86-lap feature won by series point leader Bruce Quale from Twin Falls, ID.
-Steve Jones of Meridian, ID earned the Sharp Powder Coating Fast Time Award on both nights. He now has 8 career awards to move into fourth on the all-time list.
-Six drivers completed all laps contested over the two-day event: Bruce Quale, Steve Jones, TJ Woodhall, Jeremy Doss, Brandon White, and Mark Allison.
-Best Average finish for both nights belonged to Bruce Quale (2) followed by Brandon White (3.5), Steve Jones (4.5), Jeremy Doss (5), and TJ Woodhall (7).
-Steve Jones improved the most positions in both races with moving up 27 spots. He was followed by Brandon White who improved 19 positions, Bruce Quale with 16, and Jeremy Doss with 12. The RMCS inverts the fast qualifiers up to 20 cars. Friday night's invert was 20 while Saturday night's invert was 16.
-Steve Jones earned the most points after two days of racing with 402. He was followed by Bruce Quale (370), Brandon White (370), Jeremy Doss (332), John Newsmith  (311), TJ Woodhall (285), Trevor Cristiani (271), Tyler Baily (264), Dylan Caldwell (254), and Dave Minegar (241).
-Bruce Quale leads the point standings after both nights of racing action but his lead is only 45-points over Steve Jones heading into the final three races of the season. John Nesmith is 122-points back in third place followed by Tyler Bailey, and Rick Fowble rounding out the top five in the standings.
-The Meridian event featured the largest stock car crowd of the season at the track.
