July 30, 2012 - PRLog -- The Lakeland Animal Shelter will host the 9th Annual Turtle Open to benefit the shelter on August 2, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Hawk’s View Golf Club in Lake Geneva, Wis.

Teams of four will have the opportunity to experience a great game of 18-hole scramble on Como Crossings at Hawk’s View. Each team will enjoy golf, and carting around on Lake Geneva’s only 5-star championship course. It is a par 72 course with 7,074 yards of challenging golf among beautiful woodlands. There will be a shotgun start at noon with a lunch buffet. Participants can also enjoy hole prize opportunities, and a fish fry buffet dinner, raffle, and auction.

In the past 8 years of the Turtle Open, approximately $85,000 was raised and it has become known as one of the best charity golf outings in the area. The Lakeland Animal Shelter receives most of its donations through fundraisers, such as the Turtle Open. Each year Lakeland Animal Shelter finds permanent, loving homes for over 1,800 animals.

This year’s event will be held in loving memory of animal and golf lover Pat Sontag. There is still time to register for the event! To register go online (https://lakeland.ejoinme.org/MyEvents/TurtleOpenGolfOuting/) or call Lakeland Animal Shelter directly (262) 723-1000.
