Sept. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- For over 40 years, Childcare of Southwest Florida’s (CCSWFL) mission has been to strengthen and enhance the lives of children and their families. Keeping the vision simple, CCSWFL’s six childcare centers (http://www.ccswfl.org/locations) and programs help families maintain employment and family self-sufficiency.

CCSWFL advocates families spending quality time together. In support of that goal, they have released the latest in a series of complementary eBooks, 13 Tips for Enjoying Family Fun in the Florida Sun (http://www.ccswfl.org/ebooks/13-tips-for-enjoying-family-fun-in-the-florida-sun/). Ideas for what to pack, how to stay safe in the sun, exploring the gems of SW Florida, and finding kid friendly dining and entertainment are just a few of the many informative ideas in the eBook.

“At times, for some families, it may seem hard or too expensive to find quality time for the family,” said Linda McNabb, Director of Development. “But if you and your family live in Southwest Florida, you have your own little piece of paradise as your family playground, so finding ways to spend quality family time is easy,”

A Federal Interagency Forum on Child and Family Statistics report highlights the value of quality family time. It states, “By spending time with their children, parents build the bonds that are necessary for the transmission of human capital. Children are better off in terms of academic and emotional well-being from time spent with parents, and from parenting that is characterized by warmth as well as rule-setting… In addition to regular routines and communication, time to relax together as a family is important for family well-being.”

DeNabb added, “Fun experiences, with people they love launch children into bright futures — not to mention fill parents’ hearts too! We hope people find the information in our free eBook library empowering and motivating. As always, we encourage families to contact us with any questions about our services.”

Family routines, rituals and adventures experienced in childhood lead to better social skills, self evaluations and solid futures for children. This eBook is a great resource for parents who are looking for indoor and outdoor places to take their children for fun in Southwest Florida — adventures with their well-being in mind. 13 Tips for Enjoying Family Fun in the Florida Sun can be downloaded for free by subscribing to CCSWFL’s e-newsletter.
