Sept. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- The award winning radio essay, From the Bleachers with Tom Alexander, will be part of The Friday Night Insiders with Craig Mish and John Linder airing nationally on Yahoo! Sports Radio Friday nights from 7-8 EDT. It can heard on radio affiliates throughout the United States and on www.yahoosportsradio.com.

The FTB segment will close out each show. Alexander, a longtime broadcaster, began the Silver Microphone Award winning series in 1999. Often taking a good natured, but sometimes biting poke at the sports world, From the Bleachers is geared toward the “everyman.”

“It really touches on what guys who love sports relate to.” says Alexander. “Everything from their first ball game with their dad to being harassed by a scalper to ducking your bookie. We usually aim for the funny bone, but occasionally take a detour through those poignant moments that made growing up a fan so great.”

In the late 1990‘s Alexander combined music and comedy when he served as the Head Writer/Musical Director on The Drive with Scott Kaplan and Sid Rosenberg broadcast from CBS Sports. He then moved on to providing similar content to other syndicated radio programs. In 2006, he co-founded The Sportsman’s Daily, the premier sports satire site on the web. He is also a jazz-rock keyboardist/composer and has penned several screenplays including the 2011 comedy Stonerville, a frat boy mash up with Patrick Cavanaugh, Pauly Shore and Leslie Nielson in his final on-screen appearance.
