NASCAR GEICO 400 Returns to Chicagoland in 2013

Dec. 31, 2012 - PRLog -- The NASCAR GEICO 400 is returning to the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois on September 15. Back for its thirteenth year, this race is the opening of the “Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup”. At the event, attendees will have access to all the weekend’s races, free concerts, and all the festivities going on throughout Champions Park. The GEICO 400 has been dominated in the past by Tony Stewart, with 3 wins since 2004, but in 2012 Brad Keselowski and his Dodge team overtook Jimmie Johnson on the final green-flag run to take first place for their first win at the Chicagoland Speedway. The race is on again in 2013, and with 9 winners in the first 12 years of the race there is sure to be more excitement at the speedway come this September.

While the GEICO 400 doesn’t take place until Sunday, September 15, events will be running all weekend at the Chicagoland Speedway — racing enthusiasts everywhere will not want to miss a single minute of the action. On Friday, September 13 the event gets underway with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, and the Dollar General 300 takes place on Saturday.
