CHICAGO - April 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Chicagoans love their beer, and the Windy City is home to numerous breweries, like Finch’s and Pipeworks Brewing. So it’s no wonder the city hosts so many beer festivals. With sampling options galore, two summer beer festivals in Chicago, the American Beer Classic and the first-ever Naperville Ale Fest, are clear winners for beer aficionados this season.

The First-Ever Naperville Ale Fest

Naperville and Chicagoland beer lovers can attend Naperville’s first craft beer festival, the Naperville Ale Fest (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/chicago-festivals/5238-naperville-ale-fest-2013.html), on Saturday, July 20 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Naper Settlement, located at 523 S. Webster St. in Naperville. Tickets are now on sale for this new event, which highlights craft beer.

The fest, sponsored by Lou Dog Events, will feature 180 unique beers, including 60 different American craft beers, plenty of food from Naperville’s best restaurants and caterers, merchandise vendors, and live music by The Walk-Ins and Tres Moustache. There will also be several brewing seminars throughout the afternoon.

In compliance with Illinois liquor laws, the event will be ticketed, and part of the profits will benefit the Naper Settlement and the Naperville Heritage Society. Cost of general admission is $45, but designated driver tickets are $15. Ticket holders receive 15 drink tickets each, and each drink ticket is good for one 3-ounce sample. Tickets can be purchased on the festival's website. Of course, the fest is 21 and over, so attendees must bring valid identification.

American Beer Classic

Calling all beer connoisseurs! The American Beer Classic (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/chicago-festivals/5239-...) takes Soldier Field on Saturday, May 11 from noon to 4 p.m. More than 100 American-made beers, including some local brews, will be available during several sampling sessions throughout the fest. Food, live music, and home brewing education seminars will also be highlights for beer enthusiasts. Attendees can use their ale expertise during a People’s Choice competition, which allows fest-goers to vote for their favorite beers.

Tours of the iconic and historic Soldier Field will be available for purchase for general admission ticket holders. (Tours are included in the price of VIP tickets.) Designated drivers, who must be at least 21, can still have fun in the Designated Driver’s Suite, which will offer soda tastings and a calm atmosphere.

General admissions tickets are $50 until April 15. After that date, prices go up to $60 until May 6 and then $70 until May 10. VIP tickets are $110, and designated driver admission is $30. General admission tickets include a range of 2-ounce samples and a souvenir sampling-cup while VIP ticket holders additionally receive early entry into the fest, access to a VIP lounge, and a tour of Soldier Field. Besides their able taste buds, attendees must bring a valid photo ID for entry.
