New Indie Romantic Comedy Set to Debut at Kendall Square Cinema in May 2013.

BOSTON - April 22, 2013 - PRLog -- “Surprise, Surprise!!!” a new romantic comedy feature film, by first time Writer, Producer and Director, Crosby Tatum, will make its anticipated big screen debut on Thursday, May 30th, 2013 at 7:00pm at Kendall Square Cinema, One Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA 02139.

The film will hold a special red carpet interview and photo op session with the cast and crew starting at 5:30pm before the screening.  Following the screening, the cast & crew will hold a special Q & A session for the audience and an after-party at a location in the Boston/Cambridge area, to be announced in the upcoming weeks.

Tickets are priced at $15.00 dollars, which includes the red carpet photo op, screening, and after-party.  Advance tickets are currently on sale on the film’s website, www.surprisethis.com and at the Kendall Square Cinema Box Office: (617)-621-1202.  

Seating for the screening is limited.  The producers of the film encourage everyone dress formally for the screening.  Also, the producers also encourage everyone to purchase tickets in advance on Surprise, Surprise’s!!! website or in person at the Kendall Square Cinema Box Office.  Advance tickets sold online can be purchased via credit card, and by cash or credit card at the box office.  The film intends to donate a portion of its box office receipts to a charity/non-profit organization located in the Boston area.

Tatum said he and the crew chose to screen the film at Kendall Square Cinema due to a special connection Tatum has with the theater.  “It’s like my second home in a way,” he elaborates.  “It was here that me and my Associate Producer & Director Opal (Thompson) screened our first short film, Gangland Gossip, for the 48 Hour Film Festival in 2007 here.  Since then I always thought to myself, “I’m going to screen a full length movie here someday.”  That day is coming up real soon, and we can’t wait for May 30th to come.  I’m excited,” he says.

“Surprise, Surprise!!!”, a romantic comedy conceptualized by Tatum and his writing partner, Jacquin Holland, tells the story of Crosby Tylor, a smart but socially under-confident college student who tricks his womanizing best friend and roommate, J, into dating a beautiful, charming internet girl named Cynthia Simpson, for a class project, in order to save himself from losing his full scholarship and getting kicked out of school.  The film is loosely based on Tatum’s real life struggles dealing with social under-confidence and anxiety issues when meeting new women.

"Surprise, Surprise!!!" stars Tatum as its main character, Crosby Tylor, in the film.  Local actors, Jae Holland, J.D. Achille, and Kandace C. Cummings, all make their acting and feature film debuts alongside Tatum as the film’s other lead characters.  Surprise, Surprise!!! also includes Alison Wachtler (The Exchange, Grown-Ups 2) and Mike Messier (Blood! Sugar! Sid! Ace!).  Surprise, Surprise!!! is Executive Produced by Crosby Tatum and Christopher Nolen (The Good Life, Subtle Seduction) with additional Direction by Karl Neuwinger, and Opal Thompson.

Surprise, Surprise!!! was filmed in selected areas in the city of Boston, Massachusetts, and corresponding cities such as Lowell, MA, and Attleboro, MA.  Surprise, Surprise!!! shot at over fourteen different locations in the corresponding cities, including seven well known businesses, including Merengue Restaurant in Roxbury, MA, Darryl's Corner Bar & Kitchen in the South End of Boston, MA, Capron Park in Attleboro, MA, and Ron's Gourmet Ice Cream & Bowling Alley in Hyde Park, MA.

Surprise, Surprise!!! runs just under 107 minutes and is not rated by the MPAA.  The film’s teaser trailer has been played over 2,300 times online on the film’s website, which has accumulated over 5,000 page views in the past six months, while accumulating over 10,000 views in total since the film’s development began in 2011 (*source: Google Analytics).
