By: BQB Publishing Following the reception, Parker will make an appearance at Book Expo America (BEA), North America’s largest publishing event, on May 30. Booksellers, reviewers, educators, and librarians attending the expo can meet Parker at 3:00 p.m. and receive a signed copy of her book at New Leaf Distributing booth 1215. Instead of a cape and muscles, Flopsy Parker was a hero using a Facebook page to inspire humans to pay attention to rabbits that end up in shelters. While Flopsy probably began life as an Easter gift for a child, he remained silent about his beginnings. Through his adopted mommy, Flopsy tells the stories of his life in the shelter. Now a new children’s book, The $7.50 Bunny That Changed the World, continues Flopsy’s mission to educate people about bunnies through author Gretta Parker’s intriguing story. This children’s book is a tribute to Flopsy’s life, the people he inspired, and proof that even the smallest of creatures can live the biggest of lives. “Other publishers told me it’s not a conventional children’s story and you need to change the ending,” says Parker. “The ending is the truth and I’m proud that my sincere story took a finalist award in Children’s Nonfiction. People need to know what really happens to rabbits and other animals. Sometimes they end up in shelters and need forever homes.” The story continues to inspire people all over the world to help adoptable bunnies. This new book is full of fabulous photographs of the main character as he tells his story. The $7.50 Bunny That Changed the World is available in hardcover (http://shop.boutiqueofqualitybooks.com/ “There are still a lot of injustices that rabbits face due to agricultural laws that currently govern them. Until legal changes are made, I will always fight for the little ones who do not have a voice. Flopsy was my son and my greatest teacher,” Parker affirms.
