Waterside Cocktail Party for entertaining this summer

NEW YORK - July 19, 2013 - PRLog -- The main equipment or ingredient you need to entertain in hot, hot summer
is ice!  The next thing you need is an outdoor grill. Fancy is dandy but
it's also swell if your "barbecue pit" is a hole dug in the sand.  For
scenery, you can't beat the ocean but it could be even
cooler---literally---to be on a breezy terrace looking out on a distant
pond.

This simple cocktail-party menu for adults will bring the sea to you
and your guests wherever you are, says three-time James Beard
cookbook-award winner Judith Choate. The simple recipes below were blown
ashore from the "Literature Afloat" chapter of her recipe collection
titled,
A READER'S COOKBOOK (Red Rock Press).

"How inappropriate to call this planet Earth when it is clearly Ocean."
    ---Arthur C. Clarke

Instructions for the final herb citrus sauce  recipe are: Combine the parsley, scallions, cilantro, oregano, garlic, lemon juice and zest, and orange zest in the bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade, pulsing until just minced.   Scrape the mixture into a non-reactive container.    Stir in the oil and vinegar.  Season with salt, cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
