United Studios of Self Defense Grand Opening in Calabasas: Sept. 15

CALABASAS, Calif. - Sept. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Calabasas, Calif.—United Studios of Self Defense (USSD), with more than 80 karate studios throughout California and the U.S., is opening its first studio in Calabasas. Its grand opening is Sunday, September 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. USSD is at The Summit (26799 Agoura Rd., Suite 3, Calabasas).

         Grand opening activities include authentic Chinese lion dancers, performances by USSD instructors, sparing demonstrations, free introduction lessons, games and face painting.

         “The studios will serve Calabasas, Malibu and the west San Fernando Valley,” says USSD Master Jody Neal. “We found that there is a strong desire for martial arts training in these areas—for kids and adults. Along with improved coordination, flexibility, strength, and endurance, our students develop better concentration skills, a sense of calmness, and a deep respect for themselves and others. Students advance at their own pace, without the pressure that is often such a part of team sports.”

         USSD, was founded in 1988 by Charles Mattera, a 10th degree Black Belt in Shaolin Kempo-style karate. USSD is an internationally-recognized leader in Shaolin Kempo karate and has been honored by the Shaolin Temple, founded 1,500 years ago in China and considered the birthplace of China's traditional martial arts.
