The Ram 1500 EcoDiesel Wins the 2014 Canadian Truck King Challenge

This vehicle is the first light-duty, full-size pickup that has made efficient diesel technology available, and it is currently for sale at Grove Dodge in Spruce Grove. The 2014 Canadian Truck King Challenge is a third-party, multi-day event that evaluated the powertrain options, styling, and quality of pickup trucks from today’s top brands. A panel of judges subjects each vehicle to tests that focus on features, capability, and consumption. Those tests include 1,800 pound payload capacity, 8,000 lb of towing, and off-roading. Heavy-duty trucks were put to the test in London, Ontario, while light-duty vehicles were evaluated in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario.

In addition to the Ram 1500 EcoDIesel winning the overall title, Ram Trucks swept all other categories, outshining competitors from Toyota, Ford, Chevrolet, and GMC. In the under $45,000 light-duty category, the Ram 1500 with V6 Pentastar power came out on top. Coming in second to the Ram 1500 EcoDiesel in the over $45,000 light-duty division was the 5.7L HEMI version. These wins at the 2014 Canadian Truck King Challenge follow on the heels of a variety of honors for the 2013 Ram Truck series. Ram trucks took the titles of 2013 Motor Trend Truck of the Year, 2013 North American Truck of the Year, and a 2013 Consumers Digest “Best Buy”.
