Grove Dodge Hails Volunteer Efforts to Build Life-Sized Replica of 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan

Nov. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- On November 3rd, the Windsor-built Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country celebrated their 30^th anniversary (http://www.grovedodgenews.com/celebrating-30-years-of-chrysler-minivans/). To commemorate this historic event, The Chrysler Foundation teamed up with Canstruction to build a remarkable, yet temporary, monument. Grove Dodge is honored to commemorate this special occasion by offering a full range of Dodge and Chrysler minivans at their Spruce Grove dealership.

At Toronto’s well-known Yonge-Dundas Square, a life-sized model of the 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan (http://www.grovedodgechrysler.com/new-inventory/index.htm?SByear=2014&SBmake=Dodge&SBmodel=Grand%20Caravan&SBbodystyle=clear&SBprice=clear) was constructed of all canned food items to celebrate the minivan’s 30^th anniversary. The sculpture featured approximately 30,000 cans and took more than 10 hours to assemble. Over 30 volunteers, including many high school and university students, participated in the project.

After the Dodge “Can’avan” is disassembled, the food items will be donated to the Daily Bread Food Bank. This organization supplies more than 200 food banks and meal programs throughout Toronto with food donations. According to Daily Bread, the average client only has less than six dollars a day to spend on food, clothing, transportation, and other basic needs.

Canstruction is an organization that strives to raise awareness about hunger and poverty issues. They also work to promote the importance of science, engineering, math, and technology while instilling the significance of community service in young adults. Grove Dodge salutes the efforts of these organizations and volunteers for creating awareness about hunger through cooperative action.

Along side the replica Grand Caravan, a 30^th anniversary Dodge Grand Caravan was also on display and was used to collect additional donations for a community food drive. The special edition of the Grand Caravan offers many exclusive features including Black Torino leather-faced seats with suede inserts and silver accent stitching, stylish Granite Crystal Metallic paint, and 30^th anniversary badging on the front fenders.

There are many standard features for the 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, such as a 3.6L Pentastar Variable Valve Timing (VVT) V6 engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. It is equipped with interior amenities such as tinted windows, the Uconnect 130 multimedia centre with four speakers, and a luxury steering wheel with audio and cruise controls.
