Boy Scouts Using New Fundraising Idea - Toilet Paper and Paper Towels

SALT LAKE CITY - Oct. 29, 2013 - PRLog -- Salt Lake City, UT – Monday, October 28, 2013 -  The Boy Scouts are selling toilet paper and paper towels at discount prices to friends, families, and local businesses to raise money for the “BSA Order of the Arrow 100 Years Celebration NOAC”.

We’ve all seen the sale of cookie dough, wrapping paper, candy, or other high-priced and high-calorie items.  But the idea of selling toilet paper and paper towels at discount prices is sure to raise some eyebrows and some money at the same time.  They are raising money by selling something that absolutely everyone needs and can never have too much of – toilet paper and paper towels.

"Our name brand Heavenly Soft products are sold at prices you can’t beat at the grocery store,” said Scout Leader and ‘Paper Drive’ coordinator Jeff Augason.  “We’re not asking for handouts; we’re just asking people to take part in a great deal and help out a great cause at the same time.”

All products are sold by the case and pricing starts at about $.31 per roll for toilet paper and $1.13 per roll of paper towels which is comparable or better than the grocery store pricing most consumers are used to paying.  They also have a larger 500 sheet individually wrapped roll available which is perfect for business or home use as well for about $.55 per roll.

“Our scouts and parents will be reaching out to friends, families, and local businesses asking them to stock up on these necessities,”  Jeff continued.  “We hope people will spread the word, and we invite any individuals or businesses who can participate to place an order by contacting me.  You don’t have to know one of our scouts to participate in this great deal.”

For more than 95 years, the Order of the Arrow (OA) has recognized Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives.
