Jess Black Debuts New Art Work at Santa Monica's Modern VideoFilm in January 2014

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Dec. 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Los Angeles-based Abstract Artist Jess Black will introduce his newest art collection in Santa Monica, CA on January 23, 2014, during a private artist reception. Black states, "This is the largest single collection I've done and also the most diverse."

What makes this collection unique is Black's attempt not to have a theme, which ironically became the theme of the show.  Featured will be some of the artist's signature colorful abstracts as well as paintings that subtly touch on LGBT issues, human rights violations, gay rights, religious oppression, and political adversity.  He explains, "I want my work to have meaning, but I don't want it to assault you when you walk in. I want the composition and color to be the first thing you notice.  Then, after looking at it for a minute or two, begin to see the message in the painting."

The three-month exhibit and artist reception is being hosted by Modern VideoFilm. The art will be displayed in the lobby and executive areas of MVF's Santa Monica facility.  Modern VideoFilm provides post-production and distribution services to film and television.  MVF's credits include some of the top Hollywood films, (Avatar, Slumdog Millionaire) and television programs such as, Game of Thrones, Modern Family, Pretty Little Liars, The Walking Dead, and so on.
