Cerritos College Hosts Haute Couture Open House for Cosmetology and Esthetician Program

NORWALK, Calif. - March 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Guests will be given a tour of the department and the programs, receive complimentary services, and watch the student competition and award show.

Complimentary services will be performed by the students and will include; manicures, quick updo’s, quick thermal curls and flat iron, makeup, face mapping, and eyebrow arching.

At the Open House, the Cosmetology and Esthetician students will compete and showcase their work in makeup, hair cuts, hair color, hair updo’s, and fantasy. The awards will be given to the best work in each category and will be judged by beauty industry leaders.

“This is a great opportunity to let our community see firsthand the amazing things our students are capable of. The competition is a must see! Don’t miss this special event,” said Pat Novinski, Cosmetology Department Chair and Professor.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

The Cerritos College Cosmetology Program’s mission is to prepare students for a career. Cerritos College offers Cosmetology and Esthetician programs.  The Cosmetology program provides students with the skills to cut, color, perm, straighten, and braid hair, manicure, pedicure, and skin care as well as other applications and techniques. Students in the Esthetician program learn how to analyze skin, perform facials, massages, extractions, make-up, and how to treat skin.

The Cerritos College Salon offers services in Cosmetology and Esthetics. Haircuts, hair coloring, waxing, and facial services are available to the public. Products are also sold in the salon.
