2014 CEO Virtual Startup Simulation Challenge Results

April 2, 2014 - PRLog -- The Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization held their 4th annual edition of the CEO Virtual Startup Simulation Challenge this March 1st-31st. After a full month of competition, the University of South Florida – St. Petersburg won the 1st place prize of $500 and captured their third straight national title

The 2014 competition saw many changes and a 30% increase in teams over last year. Thanks to a sponsorship by Innovative Learning Solutions, creators of Marketplace® Live (http://ilsworld.com/), students were able to compete free of charge and experience the business simulation that has been used in entrepreneurship and activities around the world. Having participated in the last three competitions, USF St. Petersburg was able to complete an impressive 3-peat.

USF St. Petersburg student Lazar Anderson was a team member in each of the three championship teams. “Each year is an intense experience, and we always come out of it better entrepreneurs. Winning this competition has done incredible things for our University and the students in our entrepreneurship program.”

2014 Results:

1st: University of South Florida – St. Petersburg

2nd: Willow International Center

3rd: University of South Alabama

Honorable Mention: Brigham Young University – Idaho

The USFSP team included Lazar Anderson, Andrew DeFraties, Liz Powers, Christa Hegedus, and Kevin Mircovich. USFSP will receive a prize check of $500, Willow International Center and Brigham Young University – Idaho will both receive $250. The top three teams will be recognized on stage at the 2014 CEO National Conference in Orlando, which will be held October 30 – November 1.
