By: Collective Development Inc. www.cdiproductions.com “It’s one thing when you think you’ve told a good story, but when over 600 people rise to their feet and give an honest and heartfelt thanks through applause, that confirms it.” -Co-Star/Director, Shane Hagedorn In addition to the Lansing screenings, “Ashes of Eden” will be part of an Independent Film Showcase in Grand Rapids at Celebration Cinema’s Woodland Mall location. Grand Rapids film lovers will have multiple chances to catch this film as it plays in rotation with other International Independent films. The film stars some of Michigan’s most promising talent including on-the-rise actress Melissa Anschutz and newcomer Steven Sutherland who play mother and son. “This film showcases what Michigan artists are truly capable of doing and reinforces why the State should embrace Michigan filmmakers.” The locally financed film did not utilize the Michigan film incentives stating that the guidelines were too restrictive at their budget level. The film has already had several international distribution offers and will continue negotiations throughout the Michigan theatrical release. Several local music acts are also featured in the film. Jerome Vierling of Soundsgood Records, recorded the anthem “The Promise”. Other musicians include Grand Rapids area artist Cassidy Bisher and Lansing native Sam Corbin. Once tickets are available online you can pre-order through Celebration!
