British-American Business Council Extends Deadline for International Business Awards

HOUSTON - June 30, 2014 - PRLog -- The British-American Business Council Houston and presenting sponsor United Airlines announced today that due to many requests for more time to complete applications,  the deadline for entering or nominating companies in the annual BABC International Business Awards has been extended from June 30 to July 19. The competition is open to UK and US companies state-wide. BABC membership is not required. There is no cost to enter the competition.

The BABC awards recognize the accomplishment of UK and US companies participating in transatlantic trade between the UK and Texas. As the #1 foreign director investor into the Texas economy, the UK is an important player in the state. The investment and trade from Texas to the UK is equally important.

Finalists in the programme will be announced in September with the winners in each of three categories announced to over 200 attendees at a luncheon on October 8 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel.

The luncheon keynote will address issues around Trans-Atlantic Best Practices in Cyber ‘Preparedness’ with a panel from Optimal Risk out of the UK and NSS Labs out of Austin, TX. The presentation will have a particular focus on security in the Energy sector.
