2015 BABC Awards Call for Nominations Open

HOUSTON - May 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Celebrating its 6th year, the British-American Business Council International Business Awards programme encourages and recognizes companies who have made significant contributions to growing and enhancing trade, commerce, civic, philanthropic, and/or cultural relations between the United Kingdom and Texas. Nominations and entries in the categories of SME and Large Corporate may be entered at www.babchouston.org/awards-criteria/ by June 30, 2015. The program is open state wide to companies doing business in both the UK and Texas. You do not have to be a BABC member to apply. There is no application fee.

Nominations submitted will be judged on percentage of year-to-year revenue growth in both the US and UK, percentage of job growth both in the US and UK, and annual capital expenditure both in the US and UK. Three finalists will be chosen in each category and announced in August. The winner in each category will be announced at the annual business awards luncheon on October 8 at the HESS Club, Houston TX.

"The UK is the #1 foreign direct investor in the the Texas economy as well as the #1 foreign employer," said Becci Himes, Executive Director of the British-American Business Council Houston. "Texas companies are investing big dollars in the UK economy as well. It is important to BABC and our awards program partners, United Airlines and UK Trade and Investment, to recognize these important contributions."

At the awards luncheon, BABC will also honor a company with the Consul General Award for Corporate Social Responsibility. Last year's recipient was BP America for their support and funding of STEM education. The 2015 recipient will be announced in August along with the business awards finalists.
