Novotel Century Hong Kong Announced Donation to YMCA

WAN CHAI, Hong Kong - Aug. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- Last year, Novotel Century made the commitment to donate $2 per customer to YMCA from Christmas program in all outlets between 10 December 2013 and 1 January 2014. The total amount of donation raised was $12632. A donation presentation ceremony was organized at the hotel and Eric Au Yeung, Division Manager for Community Services of the YMCA was invited to receive the donation on 25 August at Novotel Century Hong Kong.

In announcing the donation at the ceremony at Novotel Century Hong Kong, Jerome Stubert, General Manager of the hotel commented, “Novotel Century Hong Kong is proud to be the partner with the YMCA for 8 years. We are also extremely happy to give the donation to two main projects including organic farm in Tung Chung and BOSS program running by the YMCA in 2014. I believe that under the leadership of the YMCA, these two programs should make our community greener and brighter. ”

YMCA always shares the same vision with Novotel on sustainable development.  Novotel Century Hong Kong has Planet 21 program and the hotel aims at getting ISO 14001 this year.  On the other hand, the YMCA has the organic farm for educating the public how tree planting help protect the environment.

Same as the Novotel, the YMCA is always keen to support local children. The BOSS program provides for the participated children more opportunities for personal development through the establishment and practice program to them.  It also encourages these children to develop the habit of establishing assets, both the financial savings and non-financial assets (such as a positive attitude and the right ideas, personal skills, and social networks).

Novotel Century Hong Kong is committed to serve the community.  The Blood Donation Day is one of the charity actions followed by a range of community activities: the Christmas party for children from single parent families (2002) and Douce France in Hong Kong (2003), Charity Christmas Buffet for senior citizens (2003- 2013), Tree Planting Day (2010-2013), Christmas Donation to Chi Heng Foundation (2010-2013), Coins Donation to Chi Heng Foundation (2009) and Donation to YMCA (2014).
