LogicTree Attending Houston’s APTA EXPO Next Month

DENVER - Sept. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Next month LogicTree, LLC will attend the American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) Annual Meeting and EXPO, hosted in Houston, TX. The EXPO takes place from October 13-15 and will showcase industry-leading transit solutions.

Around the time of the EXPO, LogicTree will be launching a cross platform mobile application to deliver scheduled and real-time bus information based on user location. These applications will be based off the OneBusAway open source project with various customizations and enhancements.

The mobile applications will be developed by LogicTree under the OnTime branch and hosted in the public cloud by ViaWest, Inc.

With the integration of GTFS & GTFS-RT Data into a Mobile Application, transit patrons will be able to select the stop closest to their present location from GPS and view real-time arrival and departure time at selected stop. Additional features include the ability to view the map display of stops and routes, bookmark favorite stops, and search by stop name, address, or unique stop number.

The platform offers mobile applications and text messaging in order to provide information to the general public while greatly reducing call volume to transit authorities’ call centers.
