Follow on Google News | Lake Shore Marketing Focuses on Goal Setting for 2015INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Lake Shore Marketing’s director of operations discussed the importance of setting goals for the upcoming year, and explained how he and his team will achieve success in 2015.
By: Lake Shore Marketing “It’s nice when business is running steadily, but it isn’t good enough,” said Drew, Lake Shore Marketing’s director of operations. “To stay on top of an ever-changing marketplace, it’s necessary to innovate and evolve, too. Even if a business is excellent, without growth it will eventually fall behind. This is the reason it’s so important to set goals.” Drew explained that goal setting facilitates forward momentum, and that he and his colleagues identify objectives for every facet of the business. “We have outcomes in mind for profits, loss prevention, team development, retention, customer satisfaction, and revenue. They help us determine where we’re going, how we’re getting there, and how far we’ve come.” Lake Shore Marketing Director Reveals 2015 Plans for Success “I can’t predict the future, but I can certainly plan for it,” Drew continued. “This is what I try to impart to my team, and why I’m so serious when it comes to setting goals. Some of the most common business hiccups – economic issues, demographic changes, new competition, diminished products and services, and negative impacts of legislative or technological changes – can be combatted with sufficient preparation.” To ensure that Lake Shore Marketing is positioned for success in 2015, Drew is re-evaluating the team’s goals and strategies. This involves anticipating the potential for the issues mentioned above, and determining whether there are any barriers to navigating them, such as resource shortages or any unhealthy team dynamics. “I would suggest that other business leaders assess the factors within their companies that impact success as well,” Drew stated. “There are three primary issues that can lead to disaster: team members who cannot agree on the underlying causes of their problems, when there is a consensus about the roots of their problems but no one is doing anything about it, or no one is willing to acknowledge that there are any problems at all.” According to Drew, if there isn’t a clear consensus, the problem is likely within the team itself. If there is agreement, but action is lacking, the problem probably relates to leadership. Finally, if no one wants to deal with the problem at all, there’s a certain blind spot that must be identified and addressed. “Whether some team or professional development is in order, or whether leadership really needs to get to the bottom of what’s happening, functionality and cohesion is imperative to effective goal setting,” Drew concluded. “Success is at stake without it.” About Lake Shore Marketing Lake Shore Marketing is a leading Indianapolis- End
