By: Texas Premier Soccer League For their part, Austin Real Cuahtemoc (ARC) needed the points to push their own desires for playoff soccer and with games in hand over the others, knew that time may be on their side should things not go their way in this match. The Hurricanes went for the jugular straight from the beginning and it was two goals from returning hero to the Brendan Keyes camp, Roy Hernandez that gave the points to the hoops despite a spirited performance from ARC. Hernandez opened the scoring on 20 minutes and it took until the hour before Ruben equalized for the home side. As time ticked away, it looked more likely that ARC would be the side to grab a late winner but up stepped Hernandez for the Hurricanes to score in the final minute of play to take the points with a 2-1 victory and move his side into pole position on 16 points. The win for the Hurricanes secures a playoff position. ARC will face Galveston Pirates next week knowing a victory over them would also secure the final playoff spot and end the Pirates jaunt at getting a double this season.
