Queens Wrongful Arrest Attorney Announces Client's Acceptance of $30,000.00 Settlement

NEW YORK - Jan. 22, 2015 - PRLog -- On January 21, 2015, Torin R. who resides in Woodside, Queens, accepted the City of New York's offer to resolve his federal false arrest lawsuit for $30,000.00. Torin was represented by the Law Firm of Michael J. Redenburg, Esq. PC and the case was filed in the Eastern District of New York.

Allegations Within the Complaint

Within his false arrest complaint, Torin had alleged that on or about the evening of July 26, 2014, he was lawfully gathered with some friends and sitting on a bench when he noticed numerous NYPD agents marching toward him. Becasue he was afraid of the police, he began to walk away. Suddenly, he was grabbed from behind by one of the officers and and then tackled to the ground. Once on the ground, he alleged that he was then punched in the face by one of the officers. Therafter, he was taken to the hospital where he received three sutures near his right eye, to close the wound and stop the bleeding.

After spending time at Queens Central Booking, Torin was arraigned and the criminal charges levied against him were adjourned in contemplation of dismissal.
