Follow on Google News | The Trails Of Hope 5k Races Return To BeltonTrails of Hope: 5k Trail or 5k Road is February 28, 2015 in Belton One Race. Two Courses. One Cause. Walk. Run. Have Fun.
The Trails of Hope Races began in April 2011 with only one 5k race. They have since expanded to four races at two different locations. The original 5k race, which now extends to two courses, offering both a 5k road course and a 5k trail course is held at Hope for the Hungry; while the 10k and 5k trail races will be held at the Miller Springs Park & Nature Center in September. Hope for the Hungry began 32 years in response to the need for a children's home in a small village in Haiti. Today, the organization continues to work to meet the needs of children in Haiti and supports efforts around the globe. Locally in Belton, with the help of dozens of volunteers they meet kids in two low-income communities where they are to bring hope and joy to their lives. Each One Matters. All proceeds of the race will benefit Hope for the Hungry. The race is part of the Centex Race Series and Endurance Race Series. Participants will have the choice between two courses; a fun and technical 5k race on the trail course, through the thick, wooded area shared by Hope for the Hungry and the Belton Economic Development Corp. or a fast and smooth 5k race on the new, redesigned looped road throughout the Belton Business Park. Also featured will be a free Eagles Wings Inflatable Kid K Fun Run, a free Kids Korral with fun and games and free refuel stations with free water, fruit, snacks, food and drinks for registered participants. Food will be available for sale for spectators. There is a pre-registration fee of $25 through February 25th. The late and race-day registration fee is $30. All who pre-register by February 16th are guaranteed a sought-after Trails of Hope long-sleeve, t-shirt. Door prizes and goodie bags will be given away on race day. Awards will be given to the top three racers in each age group. The Top Overall Male and Female will receive the coveted Cowboy Hat from Cavender’s Boot City and other prizes. Registration packets are available online at trailsofhope.com, for pickup at 627 Hope for the Hungry St. Belton, TX 76513 or will be available from 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. on race day. End
