By: Team Nico David Truong 714-964-1989 Fountain Valley, CA, (June 5, 2015)—Seven year old Nico Kap of Fountain Valley has had a first grade year that was far different than what he or his family expected when the new academic year started. Shortly after the school year began the usually energetic youth was diagnosed with very advanced pediatric bone cancer. His school year at Gisler was filled with doctor and hospital visits, numerous chemotherapy treatments and surgery to remove and replace four ribs. As word spread about his condition, his strong attitude and battles with bone cancer, the community responded with support for Nico and his family. Now Fountain Valley jeweler David Truong of Mimi’s Jewelry has created a special two-part pendant highlighted with small diamonds that will be raffled off on June 12, 2015 at the Gisler Elementary School Carnival to help raise funds for the family. The specially designed pendant, designed and donated by Truong, reflects Nico’s love for Legos. “It is two pendants- one of yellow gold, one of white gold. The yellow gold piece has 'love' stamped on the four raised studs with small brilliant diamonds interwoven between. The white gold piece has 'Nico' stamped on the four raised studs. When interlocked together they form a heart. And to add to the beauty of the piece, they are both fully functioning Lego pieces - you can attach a Lego brick to either side,” said Truong. 1. The raffle is open to the general public. Raffle tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in one of three ways: a. Donations can be made in $10 increments to Nico’s gofundme page; a. www.gofund.me/ b. Tickets can be purchased at Mimi's Jewelry in Fountain Valley, 18591 Brookhurst Street; c. Tickets may also be purchased directly from Kendra Bailey (morning crosswalk lady at Falcon and Las Flores on Tuesdays and Fridays) The winning raffle ticket will be drawn on Friday, June 12 at Gisler’s School Carnival, which is open to the public to attend from 4 to 8 p.m. The winner will receive the yellow gold pendant and Nico will keep the white gold pendant. “It will be an everlasting reminder of his strength, determination, big heart and of course, his love of Legos,” says Truong, who has also promised to safely deliver the pendant to the winner if they should live outside the immediate Fountain Valley area. Gisler Elementary School is located at 18720 Las Flores St, Fountain Valley, CA 92708 (714) 378-4210 For additional information contact either David Truong at david@mimisjewelryinc.com or Kendra Bailey at kendrabailey@ End
