By: Sharon Towers “The availability of fresh local produce and other freshly made products promotes the health and well-being of all of us,” said Sharon Towers President and CEO Anne Moffat. “Plus, inviting the community onto our campus provides our neighbors with an opportunity to connect with Sharon Towers, buy fresh produce and support local farmers and vendors.” The farmers market is rain or shine, to be held on the covered parking deck. Most vendors are cash only. Among those set to sell their goodies: Green’s Produce and Plants, Chosen Roaster (the smell of fresh-roasted nuts!), Throwers Pickles, Windham’s Gourmet Pimento Cheese, Suzie Q’s Farm (grass-fed beef and pork and free-range eggs), Eury’s Produce and Nectar Floral Designs. Director of Community Enrichment Jessica Bourque said parking will be available on the premises, and that the dates of future farmers markets will be publicized, and also posted at http://www.sharontowers.org when they are finalized. She said the goal is to make this a regular part of life for Sharon Towers and all of Charlotte.
