Follow on Google News | Doors set to open at The Yot SpotPhase 1 of the long awaited boating hub in Ardrishaig to open for October holidays
By: The Yot Spot (Argyll) Ltd The new venture has been a long time in the making - 5 years in fact! A business plan was created in 2010 for a chandlery and marina-like services to be based in a beautiful listed building, sited at one end of the Crinan Canal. As time went by the plan was developed and modified to add a restaurant, laundry facilities and showers, along with the addition of a gift shop to the chandlery. But various issues with the building and various consents held the project up by years, along with unexpected snags with the work on the site. As we now approach the winter of 2015 the building is set to open it's doors - or at least some of them. WIth a few snags still to sort out with the licenced restaurant, the grand opening may be a week or two off. But in the meantime the news that the chandlery, gift shop (stocking local arts and crafts), showers and laundry will open next week (12/10/2015) With preview days scheduled for the crowd funders who helped to make the project happen prior to opening, the shop will be open to the public from Monday, and the "Yot Spot Crew" can't wait to see everyone down there...
