McDugald Steele recognized with the highest honor from the NALP for a Houston, TX garden

HOUSTON - Oct. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- McDugald Steele Landscape Architects and Contractors has been recognized with coveted JUDGES and GRAND Awards from the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) for excellence in the design and construction of our clients Bayou Peninsula estate garden. The 2015 Awards of Excellence were accepted at the Landscapes 2015 conference in Louisville, Kentucky on October 22, 2015.

The prestigious Judges Award is the highest honor given on the national level and represents the best of landscape design|build projects in North America. This estate garden was one of two entries awarded this honor in 2015.

In addition to the coveted Judges Award, the Peninsula Garden project also garnered a prestigious 2015 Grand Award.

The garden commission came with an owner’s objective to seamlessly integrate a new residence and its site improvements into the natural and mostly undisturbed 7.5 acre site along the banks of Buffalo Bayou. The project includes several water features, including swimming and reflecting pools that integrate into the sites many garden rooms designed for entertaining. Texas leuders limestone was used throughout the gardens as a hardscape material in vertical and horizontal planes to seamlessly blend interior stone flooring with the exterior environment.
