2015 Christmas Celebration with Jose Feliciano

WHO:  Operation People for Peace, Inc, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, continues to serve the needs of the underserved and underrepresented by hosting the 2015 Christmas Celebration. 100’s of Title I school children from the Jefferson Parish School District will perform as a part of this “2015 Christmas Celebration” performance and all participating children, teachers and parents will be able to attend event at no cost. Additionally, a 200 member chorus from various parts of the community will also perform Christmas songs. This represents 51% or more of our audience and is considered a Public Event.

WHAT:  Grammy Award winning artist José Feliciano (http://www.josefeliciano.com/)along with his talented band are headlining this event to share a musical celebratory message of Hope and Inspiration to all. Feliciano was recently featured on the HBO Documentary Film “The Latin Explosion”: A New America on November 16, 2015 as being one of the legends who paved the way for diversity in music in America.

Why: “Eyes On the Ones we Love” is the theme for this 2015 Christmas Celebration. Jefferson Parish, LA has become an extremely diverse parish with the increased number of Latinos, Arab Americans, Asians and other groups. This diversity and American representation has been great for the areas business arena and community resulting in a multi lingual school district and population. Encountering many natural and manmade disasters over the past 15 years this community’s people, faith based organizations and businesses strive to maintain a spirit of unity regardless of race, creed, or any perceived challenge or difference.
