Follow on Google News | In 1979 I knew John Lennon Would Soon see Tragedy via a Godly ImpressionA Fan's Tribute to the Beatles (the world's greatest rock back, in paperback)
John did experience a great deal of hurt after his remarks stating that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus caused an uproar in 1966 however, it was his responsibility for making the statements that were obviously hurtful to Christians who heard them and who felt terribly let down by the unnecessary remarks. An interview John granted the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) in 1968 that was re-released in the year 2008 has him stating that if the Beatles led their listeners into a direction in their seeking of fulfillment, he hoped that it was toward Christianity. Not only did John apologize (repent if you will) for his 1966 remark about the Beatles popularity being greater than that of Jesus Christ's, I feel he was also trying to amend for that remark in the later CBC interview.
