Prelude2Cinema Casts New York Actress Soraya Padrao in Lead Role in Que, Sera, Sera

CLEVELAND - Nov. 7, 2016 - PRLog -- New York-based actress Soraya Padrao, known for Anomalous (2016) and La Herencia Valdemar (2010) as well as performing on stage for the Spanish Repertory Theatre, has been cast as Agent Teresa Maria de los Angeles in Emmy-winning writer and Prelude2Cinema studio chief Alex P. Michaels' latest SAG Production, "Que, Sera, Sera," the first installment in near-future crime noir series OUT OF DARKNESS: CLEVELAND.

Prelude2Cinema is relaunching the first dramatic TV series set and shot in Cleveland created by Mr. Michaels. The story takes place in a fictional version of America that has come under the near-dictatorship of Joseph Franks, a celebrity-turned-politician, who kept his promises to "reform the police while eliminating the country's crime" by instituting the Federal Officers Resisting Criminal Elements (F.O.R.C.E.) Act. But the Act permits federal officers to suspend the rights of citizens and even act as jury and judge on the streets.

The film noir movie series Out of Darkness: Cleveland will be seen through the eyes of a Latina officer on the F.O.R.C.E. — Padrao's character Angie. The series also stars Robyn Cohen, who has appeared on NCIS, The Closer and was opposite Bill Murray in  "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou." Local talent and businesses will be showcased as well.

"Agent Teresa Maria de los Angeles (a.k.a. Angie) is a police officer who has been thrown into the federal government's new task F.O.R.C.E., which has almost unlimited power over the people. She already has issues with the boundaries of law and order and believes that criminals should be dealt with as harshly as possible," says Michaels. "The film opens with Angie after she's been shot. As she lays dying, we can't be sure what's real and what's not anymore throughout the rest of the film. Then there is this power inside of her that she isn't fully aware of. This darkness or shadow or force of nature that overtakes her allows Angie to fight evil in ways that she couldn't do as a police officer."

A reluctant Presidential candidate, Senator Nicholas J Ferris, takes on the President during the elections in 2020 and hopes to win before Franks is able to overturn the entire Constitution in his quest for ultimate control. Meanwhile, Ferris falls under investigation for his behavior toward the young women he rescues from human trafficking. Chief Lena Turner will stop at nothing to uncover the dirt on the senator. Angie must face her demons, or unleash them on the city's worst criminals for extreme retribution.

The real Cleveland will serve as the backdrop for the movie. "Que, Sera, Sera" is the title of the first 90-minute movie series Out of Darkness: Cleveland and refers to the phrase "What will be, will be..." in Spanish.  The movie will add an estimated $250,000 to the Cleveland economy with the addition of over 250 jobs throughout the 20-30 days slated for filming and includes production estimates of $10,000/day for local crew and talent.
