A recent performance in Huntington Beach, California, lead to an invitation for them to perform for the Millionaires & Entrepreneurs With A Cause. This philanthropic organization wanted music that everyone would enjoy, dance to and relate to. And that is exactly what they got. Prior to agreeing to perform, Lathan and Read knew that if they were to return to California with their signature "Up from the Delta sound" they their fellow musician and friend, Chicago guitarist Bobby Hawks had to join them. Hawks who has been living in California for over ten years, didn't hesitate to come on board. The result was a night of fantastic music, good vibes and surprisingly high energy from the working movie and film industry folks, who, usually don't subscribe to late night entertainment. "They simply rocked the house" as screenwriter Bill Green put it, "A true testimony that Blues is still one of America's greatest contributions to the world of music." Lathan and Reed now realize how popular they are becoming in California and have plans to return in 2017. "Now that's what I call real blues," commented Californian Carol Gee. Film and Music Agent, Scott Beiderhoff said, "I am really disappointed by the number of dwindling venues where live musicians can perform", further commenting, "This was a great night for me to hear really good live music." Although the blues is the progenitor of early rock and roll, Warren and Reed like to keep their sound authentic to the roots of Mississipi Delta blues. In spite of the relative homogeneity of the audiences, these musicians are performing for younger crowds who see this music as classic American and have begun to both appreciate it and enjoy it. For those who enjoy the Blues, it doesn't get better than live. http://deborahhayterpr. bandzoogle.com/ End
