BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - Dec. 21, 2017 - PRLog -- Tyddyn Llan Restaurant with Rooms, in the village of Llandrillo near Corwen in north Wales, has been placed in 38th place in the widely respected Harden's 100 Best Restaurants for 2018.  The new list has been published independently of The Sunday Times for the first time.

Comments Bryan Webb, head chef and co-owner of Tyddyn Llan with wife Susan: "It is a genuine honour to be included in this list which is held in such high regard by the industry."

"We have never sought accolades, so it is a nice surprise when they come along. We've held our Michelin star for eight years which reflects our consistency in serving good, uncomplicated, and extremely tasty food, using local ingredients wherever possible."

Shooting from the hip and referring to the recent story about a 'shed' ranking number one on TripAdvisor, Harden's editor and co-founder Peter Harden said: "The same week that saw TripAdvisor crown a shed serving Iceland ready meals as London's top restaurant, saw our guide name the capital's The Araki as the UK's best.

"Both systems rely on user feedback, but it is the careful collation of the Harden's survey that creates authoritative rankings, rather than trash listings based on seemingly unfiltered garbage data.

"Our 27th annual poll of diners, surveyed 8,500 participants who between them contributed 50,000 reviews, which, as curated by our editors, form the basis for the inclusions and ratings in the guide."

Tyddyn Llan has a number of special offers including special winter offer of homemade shortbread, bara brith and tea on arrival, six-course tasting menu for dinner, and full Welsh breakfast, from only £115 pp (two sharing a room).

Dishes are likely to include Welsh black beef, griddled scallop, wild bass, Goosnargh duck breast and loin of venison.  Dessert choices include St Emilion au chocolat, rum and raisin ice cream, pannacotta with pomegranate and Grappa, and prune and almond tart.  Room upgrades at a supplement from £30 (subject to availability).
