In addition, the bar area will be crafting a "cheesy cocktail" to celebrate the store's golden gala. The Cheese Haus is a top tourist destination for generations of travelers. To accommodate more visitors and offer even more fun and excitement to the shopping experience, the Cheese Haus is expanding from its current 2,700 square feet to a new 16,000 square-foot Bavarian-themed building at 545 S. Main St., just steps from the current location. Work is already underway, with a planned opening set for this Fall. The new, expanded location will offer more room for product sales and demonstrations. The second-floor hospitality area, able to accommodate groups and motor coach travelers, will be the perfect setting for beer, wine and cheese tastings. The new Cheese Haus will also have a 60-foot onion tower with figurine movements called a Figurinespiel, an animated story about popular cheeses from around the world, and a sundial. Not to worry, the famous Cheese Haus mouse will be part of the new building. The current Cheese Haus building will become retail space in 2019.
