US trade deficit with Canada in 2017 was $24,146.3 million, a 38.92% increase ($6,765.3 million) over 2016. Canada was the US 2nd largest trading partner in 2017 (just as in 2016), accounting for 14.8957% of US total trade (up from 14.8329% in 2016). Canada was the US largest export market in 2017 (just as in 2016), accounting for 18.2689% of US total exports (down from 18.2999% in 2016). Canada was the US 3rd largest supplier in 2017 (just as in 2016), accounting for 12.7303% of US total imports (up from 12.5934% in 2016). The largest gains in US exports to Canada in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups: •Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; •Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $3,258.1 million; •Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $2,231.6 million. The largest gains in US imports from Canada in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups: •Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; •Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $2,223.1 million.
