CARRHURE filled The Green Climate Fund's Health and Well-being Specialist

PARIS - July 5, 2018 - PRLog -- The Green Climate Fund or The GCF, a new global fund created to support the efforts of developing countries to respond to the challenge of climate change, selected Dr. Wegerdt as the fund's Health and Well-being Specialist.

Carrhure was retained by The GCF last February 2018 to fill this position and after a few weeks of search, Dr. Wegerdt was the one selected.

The team under the supervision of its Managing Director, Ms. Aurée de Carbon, was able to fill this position with a highly qualified and passionate candidate.

Johannah Wegerdt is a Technical Expert for the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Project Formulation on Climate Change and Health, Environmental Epidemiologist (Ph.D.). She is also an M&E Systems Specialist, Programme Manager and Researcher with more than 15 years' of experience in leading social projects or progressively high-impact programmes in resource-poor contexts in Africa and Asia. She led the climate change and health framework in the UNDP and has developed a programme from idea note stage and developing the theory of change to the concept note and feasibility study.  She was part of the small team that designed the Bangladesh GCF-UNDP project for adaptation and designed a project for South Sudan on livelihoods and peacebuilding. In addition, she developed a GCF-targeted project as part of an intended multi-country programme for Sudan on building a climate change resilient health system with the Global Fund and WHO.
