World's 3rd Wooden Pot Still Fires Up

TAMPA, Fla. - Sept. 27, 2018 - PRLog -- The Florida CANE Distillery designed and built the world's 3rd wooden pot still using a used bourbon barrel and a handmade glass column. The one of a kind wood-and glass pot still is the product of ten years of careful experimentation by the dedicated crew of distillers and rum enthusiasts in Tampa, Florida.

"It's beautiful and functional," said Lee Nelson. Nelson, the distillery's cofounder and designer of the still, also announced that they will be using it to produce a line of 3 new rums under the brand name 'El Encanto'.

El Encanto Rum will have three expressions – Silver, Amber, and Amber flavored with Pineapple. The Distillery uses a carefully sourced blend of Florida sugar cane juice and Virgin Islands molasses.  Inspired by the history of Ybor, from its Prohibition-era days to its delightful chickens, the brand carries the name of the historic building the craft distillery calls home – 'El Encanto'.  When asked to describe the rums, Nelson replied, "They truly are an Ybor Original. It has both an uncommonly clean and complex flavor profile. All three expressions are fantastic sipping rums."

To celebrate its long-awaited arrival, the distillery is welcoming people from across the city to their rum launch party to taste the new additions.  The party will feature 3 hand crafted cocktails along with original Ybor cuisine – Cuban sandwiches and Deviled Crabs. The event will be held this Saturday, September 29th, from Noon to 4 at The Florida CANE Distillery 1820 N 15th Street in Ybor.
