Tamiami Florida Gin Released. Local Tampa Craft Distillery Launches New Premium Florida Style Gin

TAMPA, Fla. - Jan. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- With 6 different launch events scheduled from January 22^nd-28^th, and availability in a number of retail stores throughout Florida, The Florida CANE Distillery announces the launch of their new Tamiami Gin.

Tamiami Gin is a small batch, hand crafted gin made from local Florida sugar cane and with botanicals including Organic Juniper, Coriander, Cucumber and Tangerine.

“We have spent the last 18 months perfecting the botanical combinations and are now excited to release this spirit for Floridians to enjoy” says Lee Nelson, co-founder of the micro-distillery located in East Tampa.  “We’ve crafted a true Florida style gin that adds a crisp citrus finish.” Using a small, packed copper column, Nelson, along with co-founder, Pat O’Brien, were driven to create a spirit that both gin purists and new gin drinkers would enjoy.

Tamiami Gin is the only gin distilled in the Tampa Bay area and can be purchased at their distillery at 501 S Falkenburg road as well as various retail outlets.

The 7 day launch event will take place at the following locations:

Thursday January 22^nd:  Ciro’s Speakeasy and Supper Club, Tampa

Friday January 23^rd:  Eats American Grill, Riverview

Saturday January 24^th:  Proof on 1^st, St. Petersburg

Sunday January 25^th:  Melange and Pangea, Sarasota

Tuesday January 27^th:  The Mandarin Hide, St. Petersburg

Wednesday January 28^th:  Grille One Sixteen, Tampa

The Florida CANE Distillery was founded in 2012 by Lee Nelson and Pat O’Brien, two distillers that set out to create high end spirits sourced with local ingredients.  In 2012, they launched the Florida CANE Vodka line made from Florida sugar cane and ten flavored vodkas flavored with local produce.  In 2013, they launched a line of high proof flavored moonshines called Sunshine Moonshine.  The Florida CANE Distillery has a tasting room located at their distillery that is currently open Friday and Saturday evenings for free tastings.
