Reports on Russian trade in goods with North American countries in Q3 2018

The share of North American countries in Russia's total trade has declined in Q3 2018 compared to Q3 2017.
 
MOSCOW, Russian Federation - Nov. 20, 2018 - PRLog -- Russian Foreign Trade has released the reports on Russia's foreign trade in goods with the countries of North America in the third quarter of 2018.

The reports have been prepared by Russian Foreign Trade stuff based on the data from the Federal Customs Service of Russia.

In particular, the reports have been issued on Russia's trade with the following countries: the US, Mexico, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Dominican Republic (12 reports in total).

A brief review of Russia's trade with North American countries in the 3rd quarter of 2018

The share of North American countries in Russia's total trade (exports and imports) declined from 5.12% in the 3rd quarter of 2017 to 4.54% in the 3rd quarter of 2018.

The share of North American countries in Russia's total exports declined from 4.36% in the 3rd quarter of 2017 to 3.95% in the 3rd quarter of 2018.

The share of North American countries in Russia's total imports declined from 6.18% in the 3rd quarter of 2017 to 5.64% in the 3rd quarter of 2018.

The major trading partners of Russia in North America in the 3rd quarter of 2018:
- The top five Russia's trade partners in North America in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were the US (3.6536% of Russia's total foreign trade), Mexico (0.4821%), Canada (0.1813%), Trinidad and Tobago (0.0662%), and Cuba (0.0535%);
- The top five Russia's export markets in North America in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were the US (3.0714% of Russia's total exports), Mexico (0.4963%), Canada (0.1263%), Trinidad and Tobago (0.1007%), and Cuba (0.0770%);
- The top five Russia's import suppliers from North America in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were the US (4.7445% of Russia's total imports), Mexico (0.4556%), Canada (0.2842%), Puerto Rico (0.0691%), and Costa Rica (0.0303%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of North America in the 3rd quarter of 2018 over the 3rd quarter of 2017:
- The share of Canada in Russia's total exports declined 2.2-fold from 0.2775% in the 3rd quarter of the 2017 to 0.1263% in the 3rd quarter of the 2018;
- The share of Jamaica in Russia's total imports declined 9.8-fold from 0.0283% in the 3rd quarter of the 2017 to 0.0029% in the 3rd quarter of the 2018.
