'Grape times' await at Bavarian Inn's German Wine Dinner

The Inn's Silver Plate Award-winning chef Phil Fahrenbruch is planning a five-course menu featuring wines from across Germany's most celebrated growing regions, including Rieslings from the Rheingau, Rheinhessen and Mosel regions, Gewürztraminer from the Alsace area bordering Germany and France, and the Bavarian Inn's very own private label Dornfelder, a red varietal with rich flavors from Rheinhessen and Pfalz vineyards.

In addition, a distributor representative from Josulete Wines Inc., Westland, Mich., will provide expert commentary.

On the menu: Nam Khao Tod (crispy rice appetizer), Grilled Shrimp over Spring Pea Risotto with Pickled Fennel, Basil Chicken Coconut Curry Soup, and Veal Saltimbocca with Spätzle. For dessert, guests will enjoy a German Chocolate Bomb Cake.
