Hudson tries to become the first marathoner in Jamaica Queens and Springfield Gardens, NY to receive the coveted Abbott World Marathon Majors "Six Star Medal" at the Boston Marathon
To earn the Six Star Medal, a runner must complete the six greatest marathons around the world within the qualifying times established by each race. Those races are, Tokyo Marathon, Boston Marathon, London Marathon, Berlin Marathon, Chicago Marathon, and New York Marathon. Gregory began his quest last year at the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday, April 22, 2018 and looks to finish the series in Boston on Monday, April 15, 2019. If all goes well, he will complete all six marathons in less than 12 months and ran several races in between them. "I'm not so sure if I consider myself a marathon runner as opposed to a runner who run marathons when I'm among these great runners. These world-class athletes run to compete at the highest levels. I run simply as a way to stay fit. Now...just weeks away from joining a very small and select group of global marathoners is all too surreal. It's the kind of stuff that you only see in the movies. Yet....I'm about to receive this prestigious award and make history in the process. Even better, I'm running with this wonderful Charity, Hale Reservation Inc., and will raise over $8,000 in the process". And yes.... I'll be "running like Hale"! https://give.everydayhero.com/ When Gregory is not running, he is spending as much time as his busy schedule allows by indulging in his passion for theatre. He loves producing original plays through his company, New Style Entertainment, Inc., (NSE) where he is the CEO/Founder. NSE season opens with Natasha McCrea's critically acclaimed one woman play, "Evolution Of A Love Addict" April 6 & 7, 2019 and closes with Comedienne, Meshelle's (The Indie Mom Of Comedy) mega hit one woman play, "Diary Of A Mother I'd Love To Follow" (MILF) on May 4 & 5, 2019 at Black Spectrum Theatre in Jamaica Queens, New York. This year's productions season is dedicated to "Comedic women in the Performing Arts." Gregory also teaches performing arts at Renaissance Middle School 192q in St. Albans Queens, NY and is a United Federation of Teachers' (UFT) Delegate. "This journey is very important on so many different levels. I hope that I can inspire some of the thousands of children who look up to me. If I'm fortunate enough to receive this once in a life time honor, I plan to use the Six Star Medal to continue my goal of helping those who cannot help themselves, making a positive impact on the lives of those who are less fortunate and leaving this world a better place than it was when I arrive".
