Reports on Russian trade in goods with North American countries in Q1 2020

MOSCOW, Russian Federation - May 26, 2020 - PRLog -- Russian Foreign Trade has released the reports on Russia's foreign trade in goods with the countries of North America in the first quarter of 2020.

A brief review of Russia's trade with North American countries in the 1st quarter of 2020

The share of North American countries in Russia's total trade (exports and imports) rose from 4.65% in the 1st quarter of 2019 to 5.40% in the 1st quarter of 2020.

The share of North American countries in Russia's total exports rose from 3.42% in the 1st quarter of 2019 to 4.36% in the 1st quarter of 2020.

The share of North American countries in Russia's total imports rose from 7.07% in the 1st quarter of 2019 to 7.14% in the 1st quarter of 2020.

The major trading partners of Russia in North America in the 1st quarter of 2020:

- The top five Russia's trade partners in North America in the 1st quarter of 2020 were the US (4.6538% of Russia's total foreign trade), Mexico (0.3803%), Canada (0.1947%), Costa Rica (0.0240%), and Jamaica (0.0213%);
- The top five Russia's export markets in North America in the 1st quarter of 2020 were the US (3.7284% of Russia's total exports), Mexico (0.3668%), Canada (0.0919%), Honduras (0.0169%), and Nicaragua (0.0143%);
- The top five Russia's import suppliers from North America in the 1st quarter of 2020 were the US (6.2030% of Russia's total imports), Mexico (0.4029%), Canada (0.3668%), Jamaica (0.0544%), and Costa Rica (0.0478%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of North America in the 1st quarter of 2020 over the 1st quarter of 2019:

- The share of the US in Russia's total exports rose from 2.5732% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 3.7284% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
- The share of Canada in Russia's total exports declined 2.2-fold from 0.2010% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.0919% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
- The share of Puerto Rico in Russia's total exports declined 12.8-fold from 0.0204% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.0016% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
- The share of Puerto Rico in Russia's total imports declined 4.0-fold from 0.0534% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 0.0134% in the 1st quarter of the 2020.
