By: KidSpirit

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - March 8, 2021 - PRLog -- KidSpirit (http://kidspiritonline.com), the award-winning online magazine by and for youth to explore life's big questions, is excited to launch its issue on Life and Death. Starting today, 11-to-17-year-olds around the world tackle the ultimate mysteries of the human condition.

Each issue of KidSpirit revolves around a Big Question posed by the all-youth Editorial Board. This season, the editors ask, "How do we determine that we have really 'lived'?" In her response, a young editor from Pakistan considers her family's legacy and her own aspirations.

Other pieces released today include one writer's reflection on loss, another contributor's personal essay on her uncertainty when it comes to big questions, an author's account of helping a friend in need, and a review of the television show The Good Place. In a Collaborative Feature, the Australia Editorial Board considers why we mourn the loss of people we have never met.

Throughout the season, KidSpirit will continue to publish writing, poetry, artwork, and video by youth on this rich  theme. In Features, one editor examines the role of human bias in the death penalty. Awesome Moments pieces will delve into transformative experiences, while the Interfaith Connections department will feature perspectives of teens from different faith traditions. The Helping Hands section will explore the life-changing impact of serving others, and, in Media, a young author will share her thoughts on Atul Gawande's Being Mortal.

Each issue of KidSpirit features additional wisdom from one adult with expertise in the theme in a column called PerSpectives. This spring, Lama Surya Das will share his insight in this department. One of the foremost Western Buddhist meditation teachers and scholars, Surya Das is also a spokesperson for the emerging American Buddhist movement, Founder of the Dzogchen Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the author of sixteen books.

KidSpirit is a unique forum for young people of all backgrounds and traditions to explore life's big questions in an open spirit. For interviews and further information, please contact Jack Mahoney at the information below.
