The Bra Recyclers Celebrates Bra Recycling Month this October

GILBERT, Ariz. - Sept. 30, 2021 - PRLog -- Every October The Bra Recyclers hosts its annual event, Bra Recycling Month, which aims to extend the organization's reach and strengthen its impact in providing vulnerable women and girls with the bras and prostheses they need to live more fulfilling, comfortable lives.

CEO and Founder Elaine Birks-Mitchell said:

I started Bra Recycling Month because I wanted to provide a new opportunity for everyone to support domestic violence, human trafficking and breast cancer survivors in a meaningful way, besides through making monetary donations. For most of us, bras are a staple item in our wardrobe, but for a woman in transition it's a luxury item. If a breast cancer survivor doesn't have insurance, for example, getting the necessary post-surgical supplies like a mastectomy bra or prosthesis is not an option. Recycling your new and preloved bras gives them to those who need them most.

Throughout this month, The Bra Recyclers is working to spread awareness of domestic violence, human trafficking and breast cancer; issues that many of the women and girls they offer support to face. The Bra Recyclers is also using the month as an opportunity to inspire individuals themselves to take action to help improve the lives of victims and survivors by recycling their preloved bras and prostheses with The Bra Recyclers. Recycling not only supports individuals and families, but also the environment by extending the life of preloved bras and reducing the amount of clothing going into landfills.

Those that send in their preloved bras and prostheses will be entered into one of several prize draws to win gift cards that have been offered to The Bra Recyclers by its Bra Recycling Ambassadors – organizations that work with The Bra Recyclers to recycle bras and prostheses. Winners also have the option to pay their gift cards forward if there is an organization that they would like to donate their prize to. To qualify for entry, The Bra Recyclers must receive an individual's donated items by October 31, 2021. Winners are emailed directly and announced via Instagram.
